Registration

There are changes to the Summer Science Camp registration procedure this year.
Please read this information carefully!

Register online at Online Registration and get immediate confirmation online.
Registrations can also be mailed, faxed, phoned in or dropped off at the YSI Vasona Center. Confirmations will be emailed (or regular mail if no email address is provided) after processing. Phone confirmation will not be provided. See pages 7 and 8 of the Summer Science Camp packet for the registration form.

YSI is proud to confirm that our Instructor to Camper ratios meet or exceed those recommended by the American Camp Association’s accreditation program.

One new feature this year is -
Extended Day Summer Science Camp is being offered again at Vasona.

The Extended Day Summer Science Camp runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Extended Day Summer Science Camp will be a continuation for the B, C and D campers (entering Kindergarten through entering 6th grade). It is NOT available for A campers.
Extended Camp activities include arts and crafts, story time, indoor and outdoor games and activities, hikes, quiet time and more!
YSI will maintain the same excellent program quality and the 1:7 Instructor to Camper ratio you’ve come to appreciate about YSI.

Prices are listed with the individual camp in the Schedule.
Kindergartners may enroll in either A (pre-K - K) or B (K - 1st grade) camps. Which is best for your child?* Here's how A Camps differ from B Camps: B Camps are 1.5 hours longer. Is your child ready for a 4-hour day? Crafts, games, and experiments usually require higher-level fine motor skills (cutting, gluing, coloring) and social skills (taking turns, sharing, waiting, listening) Hikes tend to be longer, have fewer stops, and kids often carry their daypacks with lunches. Content and vocabulary are at the Kindergarten and 1st grade level. Still not sure? Cancellation and Refund Policy

For Camp cancellations the following rules apply:
• 100% of Camp and Extended Camp fees, less a $25 administration fee per Camp, will be refunded if requested by April 16.
• 75% of Camp and Extended Camp fees will be refunded if requested from April 17 to May 14.
• No refund (0%) of Camp and Extended Camp fees will be made after May 14.
Because YSI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all non-refunded Camp and Extended Camp fees (does not include administrative fees) are considered a donation as allowed by law. Upon request, a tax donation receipt will be provided.

Enrollment Change Policy

Any change (cancelling out of one Camp AND enrolling in another Camp) requests must be made at least 30 days before the Camp start date, and are subject to availability. There will be a $25 administration fee in addition to the Camp fee.
Camps and Extended Camps are NOT transferable to another person.
Returned checks are subject to a $20 returned check fee.

Minimum Enrollment

If minimum Camp enrollment is not met two weeks prior to the first day of Camp, that Camp may be combined with another Camp or cancelled. If Camps are combined two weeks prior to the first day of Camp, no refund will be given. If a Camp is cancelled by YSI, a full refund will be issued.

Friends in Camp Policy

If you would like your child to be placed with a friend or sibling in the same section of the Camp, indicate the name of the friend or sibling on the space provided on page 7. YSI will try to place them together, but it cannot be guaranteed. You may request only one other friend or sibling to be placed with your child for each Camp.

Release Statement
I do hereby give my full consent for my children to participate in the Youth Science Institute’s programs listed and I have read the cancellation policy. I agree to hold harmless the Youth Science Institute and its officers, employees, volunteers and agents. Should any accident occur requiring medical care for my child, I give full consent to the providing of such care by a licensed physician. If my child should become a disciplinary problem in the opinion of the group leader, and by doing so seriously affect the quality of the trip or program for the other participants, I agree to pick up my child at a place designated by the representative of the Youth Science Institute, however inconvenient that may be. I acknowledge that depending on the type of program, other Releases may be required. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all foregoing to use photographs, videotape, motion pictures, recording and any other records of this event for any purpose whatsoever.
